From Studio Floors to Wedding Vows: A Story Worth Telling

Originally from Dundee, my journey has been anything but ordinary. In 2011, I made the move to Edinburgh to study TV production. Armed with ambition, curiosity and probably a lot of caffeine. Just a year later, I stepped into the fast-paced world of television at the BBC, where I spent the next decade working behind the scenes on some of the UK’s most recognisable shows.

From the live energy of X Factor to the heartfelt moments of Children in Need, the popular quiz show Who Dares Wins, the quick-fire intellect of Eggheads, and the unmistakable humour of the BAFTA & National Television Awards winning Mrs Brown’s Boys. It was a career that kept me on my toes and gave me stories for life.

But as exciting as television can be, something new was calling.

In 2022, I took a leap into the world of weddings, starting as a wedding manager at the Redhurst Hotel in Giffnock, Glasgow. It didn’t take long to realise I’d found something special. Being part of one of the most important days in people’s lives is a different kind of magic. By October 2024, I joined the stunning Òran Mór in Glasgows west end where the romance, history, and atmosphere only deepened my love for the industry.

Now, I’m stepping into an exciting new chapter as a wedding celebrant. It feels like everything I’ve done so far. Storytelling, production, organisation, and a love of people, has led me here. I’m beyond excited to create personal, meaningful, and memorable ceremonies for couples starting their own journeys together.

In my spare time, I’m usually found enjoying life’s simple pleasures with my partner, Jamie, who I’ve been with for eight wonderful years. At the moment, we’re on the exciting journey of house hunting for our very first home together, dreaming about what’s next.

Family time is a huge part of my life, especially with our gorgeous little niece, who’s just turned two. She’s truly the most incredible little girl, and we absolutely adore every moment we get to spend with her.

We’re big fans of the cinema, particularly comedies, if it’s guaranteed to make us laugh, we’re there. Anything starring Melissa McCarthy is an instant ticket booking for me. When we’re not at the movies, we love to travel and explore new places. We’ve been lucky enough to visit beautiful cities like Rome, Venice, Paris, and Barcelona, but New York has completely stolen our hearts as our all time favourite.

More recently, I’ve passed my driving test, and I’m really enjoying the freedom that comes with being on the road, another exciting chapter in our journey together.
